From New Orleans to Liverpool
Liverpool and New Orleans both thrive on a rich tapestry of cultural diversity, music, and a strong sense of community.
Bringing the “food is love” philosophy to Liverpool not only honours Louisiana’s culinary heritage but strengthens the local community in a city known for its warmth and vibrant spirit.
Meet SuSu
SuSu Pulliam, originally from Baton Rouge and raised in Destrehan, is a vibrant force of love and community, often recognized for her large, colourful hats. After college in Hammond, she sought to give her sons a life beyond Louisiana while cherishing her roots, which are steeped in joyful gatherings and delicious meals like boiled crawfish and gumbo.
Her memories of New Orleans are filled with the spirit of football, family, and happiness – values she instilled in her son Reggie, who proudly carries on their culinary legacy in Liverpool. She fondly recalls teaching Reggie to cook Louisiana favourites such as red beans and rice and remembers him constantly sneaking into the kitchen as a young boy to try bites as she finished cooking.
She cherished the time spent around the table as a family peeling boiled crawfish with her sons, a labour of love that would yield other crawfish classics like Au Gratin or etouffee.
As a grandmother and dedicated volunteer, SuSu believes that ‘food is love’, creating connections that extend far beyond the bayou.

New Orleans
SuSu’s New Orleans Kitchen embodies all of the things that New Orleans is renowned for – vibrant community, family-centric leadership and culture, delicious food, and love for bringing people of all walks of life together over a common love of food.
Authenticity
While many have tried to claim New Orleans-inspired faire – SuSu’s was born in the Gulf Coast, United States and is owned and operated by a team of loyal Louisiana partners and Liverpool natives. We believe good people do good things and it’s why our culture focuses on people – our employees and our customers.
Deliciously Easy
We know life gets hectic and chaotic – but it doesn’t have to yield basic, boring meals for young professionals, families and individuals. We aim to bring the comfort of Louisiana to a busy lunch break or home so that our customers can focus on what really matters – family and friends.
Community
Community is at the heart and soul of New Orleans and we aspire to keep that at the forefront of the work we do in our SuSu’s communities. Whether it’s partnering with local musicians or artists, or serving alongside of our neighbours – we believe food is love – and community is meant to be built and savoured.
